I first sprited the character only to put him in my new ID, but then decided to add the background... that's why it may not exactly match ^^'

A bit of info about the character:
This is my rendition of a quite popular character from the Moomintrolls books, Snufkin (whose name in Polish is Wloczykij (Włóczykij)). I wanted him to have more mysterious and darker appearance, with elements from sarmatic garments (Sarmaci - how Polish nobility were called in XVII-XVIII century, note that the original concept included peacock feathers on the hat, but it didn't look right so I changed it).
Snufkin in my story is a mercenary in the city of Oz (which is populated with creatures from various fairy tales, fables and Slavic mythology). His most trusty companions are his two revolvers - Artemis and Diana (Greek and Roman goddesses of the moon and hunt, the guns themselves are modelled after Colt Python). The adamantine scythe he is wielding is called Swallowtail, and in the big jewel on the top resides an ethereal creature called Psyche (Greek personification of human soul, who was presented as a butterfly), Snufkin's "guardian angel".

I decided to include this little description to explain one thing...
He was NOT influenced by Black Mages and has NOTHING to do with them. Original Snufkin wore a hat similar to this, and I added the moon on it to emphasize his connections with it. Oz itself is also a city of a neverending night, and moon motifs are quite popular there, too. His face is concealed for various reasons (and the fact that it looks cool is not one of them ...okay, so it is XD

Anyway, I want to thank all the people who commented on it (especially those who offered helpful hints and critique, I'm always happy to hear about the picture's weak points and suggestions on how to eliminate them). I also am quite surprised that it became/got a DD. Frankly, I don't think it really deserves it, there are tons of betters choices in pixelart galleries...
